Stevenage Phoenix Fitness Tests

The club use fitness tests so that members can compare  their fitness levels through the running season. The principal tests used are the bleep (or multistage) test and the Cooper test. The tests are organised at regular intervals during the season.  Details of test dates can be seen in the club’s training diary on Team Up.

Bleep (multistage) test

The test involves continuous running between two lines 20 metres apart in time to recorded bleeps. The participants score is the level and number of shuttles reached before they were unable to keep up with the beeps. The test result can then be converted to an indicative VO2 level.
